HALL OF FAME
The
Atlantic City Beach Patrol has a long proud and distinguished
history. It was
the first ocean rescue Beach Patrol to be established
in the United States. The term
"Beach Patrol" orginated here in
1891. We have served as the model for the
organization and operation of ocean lifeguard
agencies since our inception. We have
been the innovators of surf boat rescues, multiple
rescues ( scrambles ), techniques
of resuscitation, and strong lifeguard traditions.
Many individuals have contributed to
form and character of the Atlantic City Beach Patrol
throughout its history and many
individuals continue to influence the traditions,
image and character of the Atlantic
City Beach Patrol.
The
Atlantic City Beach Patrol Hall of Fame was instituted to honor
and
recognize those members of the Beach Patrol
who have made special contributions
in one or many areas. The Hall of Fame inductees
are selected on the basis of
unusual dedicated service, outstanding leadership,
unique contributions and
outsatanding athletic achievement.
We
thank and congratulate all members of the Atlantic City Beach
Patrol
Hall of Fame.
